Ryan Rosenbaum

Having been around the sport of swimming since the age of 4, Ryan Rosenbaum has had the opportunity to experience many tiers of the sport. As a club swimmer, he has spent his entire career at the International Hall of Fame under coaches Jack Nelson, Ian Cross, Duffy Dillon, and current coach Dave Gibson.

Ryan participated at the 2012 Olympic Trials, competed on numerous open water teams, and contributed to a three-peat of SEC championships for the Florida Gators. He recently reflected on his time at UF, “Swimming for the legendary coach Gregg Troy helped create something deeper then swimming. It is a fast track to learning all of the vital life skills that the sport is able to teach you.”

After 16 years competing at the club, national, and collegiate level, Ryan decided to retire from competitive swimming begins to enjoy the sport more.  He is now a member of the famous Swim Fort Lauderdale master’s national team training to compete this summer at Master’s Nationals.

In addition to training, Ryan is an entrepreneur. He has three business partners (all former and current swimmers and coaches) and they have begun a tech startup called Phlex, Inc., which is focused on bringing innovative technology to the sport of swimming. Ryan also is a major contributor to Florida Swim Network, where he does both play-by-play announcing and video production.

In his spare time, Ryan primarily keeps busy making music on the guitar, surfing, paddle boarding, biking, and playing basketball. You can connect with Ryan on Twitter at both @rrosenphlex and @phlexinc
